Total Health for Middle School
From a quote on the back cover of the text:
“Total Health Talking About Life’s Changes is a simple guide to bodily health for teens. It presents biblical truth in the context of right relationships and healthy behavior. The text makes it very clear that, because of His love for teens, God is concerned about how they choose to live. I pray that God will bless this series. May parents, school teachers, and principals recognize it as a great health foundation for all our lives.”
Paul W. Brand, MD

Talking About Life’s Changes Content
There is a little over one page that discusses STDs. Basically it is a very general description of what an STD is, names of different STDs, and some of the complications. A large paragraph is devoted to talking about abstinence as the only way to prevent them. There is a very general paragraph about AIDS that also promotes abstinence.
There is a chapter on substance abuse: drugs, alcohol, tobacco. It is also written from the Christian perspective.
Overall, the explanation of these sensitive topics is very well done, balanced, and does not offer too much information for this age group.
